Real-time strategy (RTS) games are video games in which players control numerous units and structures on a map. In a typical RTS, players gather resources (like lumber, food, and gold) and spend those resources on base-building, technological development, and the creation of characters (e.g soldiers, tanks, farmers, lumberjacks). Often, these games revolve around the development of civilizations (real or fictional) over time and has those civilizations fight each other in a singleplayer or multiplayer setting.
In Multiplayer online arena (MOBA) games, each player controls a character on a map. Each character has a unique personality, a unique set of skills and abilities, and customizable strategic and cosmetic attributes. Games are played between two teams of multiple players, who each control their individual character to fight enemy characters and destroy enemy objectives. MOBA games are highly competitive and players can queue up for games either individually (where they are matched with other team members) or with a premade team.
